Brent MacGregor
Chief Executive Officer

Brent joined MDI as Chief Executive Officer in November 2020.

Previously, Brent was the Senior VP Commercial Operations for Seqirus, from its inception in 2015 until 2020. He has also held roles as Head of North America for Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics and Managing Director ANZ, Managing Director Japan, VP Global Marketing, and Global Head Strategic Planning for Sanofi Pasteur.

Brent is also a board member of Dynavax, a Hepatitis B vaccine company.

Brent has a BA in Political Science/Economics from Carleton University, Ottawa Canada, MA in Political Economy from Reading University, UK and an MBA from Kellogg – Northwestern University, Evanston IL USA.

Anita James
Chief Financial Officer

Anita joined MDI in May 2022 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing extensive senior finance and commercial experience in ASX listed environments.

Prior to joining MDI Anita worked at Pact Group Holdings Ltd, as General Manager Finance and Investor Relations, and other ASX listed companies in the mining and resources sector, including 12 years with the multi-national mining services Company Orica Ltd.

Tara Eaton
Chief Corporate and People Officer

Tara leads the Company Secretarial, Risk, Legal and People & Culture functions. Tara is an experienced executive, with her remit growing since joining MDI in 2022.

Tara’s previous roles include General Counsel at the Australian Red Cross, and prior to that more than ten years in the pharmaceutical industry. This included three years as Legal and Compliance Director at Gilead Sciences ANZ, and more than seven years as Legal Director at Merck & Co.

Tara brings an impressive record of working with public and private stakeholders alike, pricing and business development transactions, and developing and managing compliance and risk frameworks. Tara strives to bring out the best in people in achievement of organisational goals.

Outside work, Tara is a non-executive Director for a charity in the disability sector.

Julianne Alexander
Head of Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs & Clinical Development

Julianne comes to us with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector, specialising in government and biopharma across Australia and in global markets.

Julianne spent 12 years at Novartis. Her accomplishments in her home market were recognised by Novartis global headquarters and she was tapped to assume the role of Global Director of Field Medical Excellence, based in Switzerland. Julianne and her family spent almost five years in Europe before returning to Australia.

Julianne’s expertise in planning and executing effective medical engagement activities in the field comes at an opportune time to MDI.

Anastasia Tan
Head of Operations and Supply Chain

Anastasia joined MDI in May 2021 and is a skilled Supply Chain practitioner with over 25 years’ experience across multiple supply chain functions in the manufacturing industry.

During her extensive career, Anastasia has worked at multinational companies such as Shell, Mallinckrodt, BASF, Firmenich and Clariant in regional and global supply chain capacities.

She has also achieved leadership and senior management positions in the past 20 years.

A strong advocate of people and organisational development, Anastasia is experienced in building highly effective teams and driving organisation transformations. She is adept with driving improvements using operational excellence principles and steering compliance with local and international standards. Anastasia is multi-lingual and has led communication efforts throughout her career.

Anastasia is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University.

Benson Lee
Head of Commercial Operations

Benson joined MDI in October 2021 with over 20 years of experience in various commercial and leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry. He began his career at Pfizer in Sydney and later joined CSL Seqirus in Melbourne, where he marketed launch brands in highly competitive environments. Benson has consistently worked on therapies that support patients living with pain – a passion he continues to champion at MDI.

Benson holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney and an MBA through the Australian Institute of Business.

Outside of work, Benson enjoys spending time with his young family, coaches junior basketball, and is an avid follower of the AFL.

Victoria Sowemimo
Head of Quality

Victoria joined Medical Developments International (MDI) as Head of Quality in May 2026, bringing more than three decades of global leadership experience across the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, spanning Australia, North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

She provides strategic leadership across all CGMP Quality Systems, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements across MDI’s pharmaceutical and medical device operations.

Prior to MDI, Victoria held senior executive quality roles at GSK, Novonesis (formerly Novozymes), and Aldevron, and has consulted to multiple healthcare organisations on Quality Systems. She is an active participant in professional quality and regulatory forums and industry networks.

Victoria holds a PhD in Pharmacy from Monash University, an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and an MSc from Loughborough University.
